Revlon Lip Butters

A cult classic beauty product, the Revlon Lip Butters are seen as staples in many blogger’s beauty bags, so I couldn't resist giving my two cents worth.

I’d eyed these beauties up for quite some time before I actually took the plunge and bought them- they retail for $21.95 in Australia, compared to $6.50 in the US. Damn. We Australians do get ripped off badly. However, at Christmas last year, Revlon came out with a gift set containing a cute compact mirror and three lip butters: Peach Parfait, Lollipop, and Sugar Plum, at only $30 (half price!).

These balmy lipsticks are a thicker than I expected, and wear for a good few hours before they need freshening up. I don’t find them particularly moisturising on my lips, which was slightly disappointing. I have no real problems with them, other than the large glitter particles in Peach Parfait, which can be annoying as it goes on slightly chunky- I usually prefer smooth and silky formulas.

I love the look of a sheer wash of colour on the lips- sheer lipstick, sheer glosses, sheer stains. It’s my thang. Revlon has fed my addition as the colour pay off is relatively sheer. They look lovely on the lips.

I think Revlon has done a good job with these and again reigns supreme in the drugstore lip category. And Revlon takes the crown once again…
